Allegron Group implements sustainability strategy for its own real estate portfolio

Westbridge provides support in the area of energy supply

Frankfurt am Main / Bad Ems, October 18, 2024 - The Allegron Group from Bad Ems has called on the services of Frankfurt-based sustainability expert Westbridge Advisory (Westbridge) to structure its mixed-use real estate portfolio in a more future-proof and climate-friendly manner in the area of energy supply. In the course of commissioning Westbridge, the electricity and gas supply contracts of the properties held by the Allegron Group were analyzed and subsequently redesigned. Since the beginning of October 2024, badenova Energie from Freiburg has been the new energy supplier for the mixed portfolio.

By optimizing 231 electricity and 17 gas supply points, which will be eco-neutral from now on, the buildings of the Bad Ems-based real estate company will save around 1,939 tons of CO2 with a total annual consumption of almost 6,000,000 kWh by the end of the contract term in December 2028. Over the next three years, the Allegron Group will thus reduce its energy costs by almost EUR 1,442,000.

"This optimization measure represents another key milestone in the sustainability strategy we have developed for our properties," says Dirk Wiedenhues, Managing Director of the Allegron Group. "Together with Westbridge, we will continue to gradually develop our portfolio and bring it into line with the applicable ESG guidelines."
"The energy market has continued to stabilize in recent months. We encourage our clients, and those who want to become clients, to review their energy supply contracts with us on a regular basis. Our experience clearly shows that potential savings are prevalent and are often just waiting to be identified. And we are happy to help," says Simon Szpyrka, Managing Director at Westbridge.
