Westbridge secures long-term energy supply for GEWOBAU Essen
The Westbridge Group (Westbridge), one of the leading energy and sustainability consultants for real estate clients in Europe, has successfully retendered the energy supply of its entire real estate portfolio for GEWOBAU Wohnungsgenossenschaft Essen eG (GEWOBAU). The supply concept will supply around 5,500 residential units, which will benefit from a stable and secure long-term energy supply in future.
As part of a nationwide competition, the bids from various energy suppliers were evaluated and compared with each other. The contract was awarded to Stadtwerke Essen AG, which submitted the most economically attractive overall offer for both natural gas and electricity. In total, the new supply comprises around 24 gigawatt hours of natural gas and around 1 gigawatt hour of electricity per year - thus ensuring a long-term and reliable energy supply for the portfolio.
"The current market situation requires a precise analysis of all available procurement options. With Stadtwerke Essen, a provider has prevailed that offers very good value for money and at the same time guarantees long-term security of supply," says Rüdiger Salzmann, Managing Director at Westbridge. "We were able to implement a model for GEWOBAU that creates stability and reliably secures the energy supply over several years."
GEWOBAU is also satisfied with the result of the tender: "Cost-effectiveness and security of supply for our members are our top priorities. The tender carried out by Westbridge provided us with a very sound basis for our decision," says Dr. Eike Klingsch, Technical Director of GEWOBAU Essen eG. "In Stadtwerke Essen, we have found a strong regional partner with a convincing range of services."
