Westbridge optimizes energy purchasing for Gemeinnütziges Siedlungswerk

Numerous residential buildings of Gemeinnützige Siedlungswerk Frankfurt GmbH (GSW) in Hesse and Thuringia will be supplied with green energy in the future. The energy and sustainability consultant Westbridge successfully supported GSW in renegotiating the energy supply contracts for several hundred residential buildings.

As part of the optimization, a total of 631 delivery points will be supplied with electricity and 178 delivery points with natural gas by the newly selected regional energy suppliers from October 2024. Thanks to strategic advice from Westbridge, energy costs for tenants will fall significantly in future. GSW will save 19,972 tons of CO₂ over the entire term of the contract thanks to the green energy selected as part of the new contract, bringing it closer to its goal of creating a climate-neutral housing stock by 2045.

"Our job is to identify the best possible conditions on the energy market for our customers and to develop customized solutions. In the case of GSW, we have succeeded in guaranteeing security of supply for the coming years by selecting regional energy suppliers," says Simon Szpyrka, Managing Director at Westbridge.

Andreas Schulz, Commercial Director of GSW, adds: "On behalf of our shareholders, we ensure that housing remains affordable and becomes more sustainable. By supporting Westbridge, we are achieving a significant reduction in our tenants' energy costs and CO₂ consumption. Together, we are achieving a sustainable and economical energy supply for our tenants."
