Westbridge further expands management team with appointment of Dr. Maria Vasconcelos as Head of International Project Management
Westbridge Advisory GmbH (Westbridge), a leading energy and sustainability expert, has appointed Dr. Maria Vasconcelos as the company’s new Head of International Project Management. In this role, she will be responsible for strategic processes for global energy sourcing with the aim of ensuring not only cost efficiency but also long-term security of supply for our clients.
With her doctorate in electrical engineering and proven experience, she will analyse global energy markets, identify potential for sustainable purchasing strategies, and develop sources of competitive advantage. Her focus will be on expanding strategic partnerships with global energy suppliers and service providers. Together with Westbridge’s international sales teams, she will design customised solutions that consider all relevant aspects, from product selection and optimal timing all the way through to ESG criteria.
With this appointment of Dr. Maria Vasconcelos and the recent appointments of Benita Schneider as Chief Commercial Officer and Dr. Marius Schumacher as Head of Growth & Transformation, Westbridge is steadily driving forward with its international expansion strategy. The company’s enlarged management team is particularly focused on international markets, sustainability innovation and digital transformation. Through products such as power purchase agreements (PPAs), e-mobility solutions, energy management systems (EMS), photovoltaics (PV), and strategic partnerships with international energy suppliers, Westbridge strives to identify and exploit opportunities for sustainable value creation while further strengthening its position as a global thought leader in energy consulting.

Maria Vasconcelos has extensive professional experience in research and industry as well as strategic consulting within the energy sector. Most recently, she served as co-CEO of LUMENION GmbH, a provider of innovative storage solutions. Prior to this role, she conducted feasibility studies and market analyses for electricity market reforms on an independent freelance basis, including both technical and economic aspects. Her previous work also included positions at Envelio GmbH, Fraunhofer FIT and RWTH Aachen University, where she led numerous international research projects. She completed her doctorate magna cum laude from RWTH Aachen University in the field of operational planning and control of decentralised energy systems.
