Westbridge boosts leadership team with addition of Dr. Marius Schumacher as Head of Growth & Transformation

Westbridge Advisory GmbH (Westbridge), a leading energy and sustainability expert, has brought Dr. Marius Schumacher on board as its new Head of Growth & Transformation with effect from 1 July 2025. In this key role, Dr. Schumacher will develop and implement long-term growth strategies, including potentially through acquisitions. Towards this growth objective, he will identify new business areas based on market analysis and competitive analysis, using this wealth of data to evaluate opportunities and risks. He will, in addition, lead cross-departmental change initiatives to optimise structures and processes. Together with the respective teams, he will be responsible for the operational implementation of strategic initiatives and will drive innovation in terms of new products, new service offerings, and new business models. Finally, he will be responsible for monitoring defined key performance indicators, allowing the effectiveness of strategies and actions to be objectively measured and further developed.

“With Marius Schumacher, we have acquired a builder of bridges between vision and implementation, between our strategy and our operating business,” explains Yama Mahasher, Chief Executive Officer of Westbridge. “In times of rapid market changes, this is exactly the expertise that we need to be able to flexibly respond to new conditions and to consistently expand our position as an industry leader.”

In his new role as Head of Growth & Transformation, he brings extensive expertise in strategy, transformation and growth, most recently as an associate partner at McKinsey & Company, where since 2019 he supported energy and private equity clients in developing and scaling growth strategies, including transformation, M&A and exit processes for established companies as well as scale-ups.

Dr. Schumacher was awarded his doctorate in production engineering from RWTH Aachen University, where he likewise previously completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in energy engineering. He also brings international experience to his new leadership role, including from the University of California, Berkeley.
